Posted by peggy stack kimbell on June 11, 2008 at 08:09:15: Martin O'Connor married a Margaret Muldowney or Mullowney. They never left Ireland. Martin was supposed to have been killed, but I have no idea if this is true or not. Their sons left for America first and then their daughters left and eventually made it up to Illinois via New Orleans and the MIssissippi River to their brothers. I have never found port of entry papers for anyone! I did find on the 1900 Federal Census, that Winnifred O'Connor Stack stated that she came to the U.S in 1852. Martin and Margaret produced these children that I know of: 1) Patrick O'Connor who wed Mary Kelly 12 Sept 1858 Peoria, Peoria Co, Illinois Patrick and Mary's children were: Martin 2) John O'Connor married one Margareth Hayes Their children were: Thomas 3) Winnifred O'Connor married John Stack 25 Nov 1855 Peoria, Peoria Co, Illinois Their children were: Mary Stack 4) Hanorah O'Connor married John Priest 11 June 1860 Peoria, Peoria Co, Illinois. Hanorah's tombstone states that she was born 10 May 1842 Co Mayo, Ireland. Their children were: Thomas Priest 5) Alice O'Connor married Daniel Crimmins 18 June 1871 Illinois unkown location They produced no children. They lived for 38 years in Galesburg, Knox Co, Illinois. And I believe there was another sister named Bridget O'Connor who lived in the East. Any help will be most appreciated.
